The evening of Saturday 4th, Vivian Banquets, Andheri was filled with an unfamiliar bunch of ambitious film makers of all backgrounds and age groups.

Teams arriving at the venue
The kick-off of The 48 Hour Film Project was about to start. Just few days before, total strangers had formed alliances to team up for the competition , taking place for the fourth year in the city as 87 teams geared up to start a mad weekend of scripting, shooting and editing.
As the kick-off time approached, film makers waiting in their allotted seats, looked quite sharp with adrenaline pumping in their hearts and red bull in their hands.
Nagesh Kukunoor, Parvin Dabas and Meghna Ghai Puri cheered the teams and flagged them off to start on their journey with words of encouragement and pat on the back.

The 48hfp organizers started calling out teams to pick up a genre from ‘the hat’, sounds of relief was heard from few, while one team was heard saying “Period piece? What’s that?”
The prop, character and dialogue that were announced sounded tricky, but that is where the scripting and smart film making plays the most important role.
The teams who have participated before know the importance of each second in the 48hfp, it seemed like they were already plotting the script in their minds almost immediately, while others started discussing their game plans.

The participants never looked back as they rushed out to start making their film, but how many teams will succeed? Well, only 48 Hours will tell.
